Dreams and Teams knocked on our school's door in 2006. Right from the start, our partner, the British Council through its representative Mimi Gaye Aidara, pointed out clearly the way we should take: build students' leadership skills. We have not missed the target as this skyblog shows, the project along with this blog are managed now by students, I mean, Young Leaders. The teacher's assistance is very limited. Young Leaders have established an online connection with their UK partners, Carre's Grammar School, whose students had a 7-day stay in Thies, the city hosting Ahmadou Ndack Seck School. Young Leaders have planted 50 trees in their school and in outreach schools to contribute to the International Environment Day. Young Leaders have organised 2 sport and art festivals in one year, one of which was run with UK partners. Young Leaders have organised school events, ranging from the Godfather Thanksgiving Day to the farewell-day of the former school's vice-headteacher. Last but not least, this blog has been opened and will be managed by a Young Leader, webmaster Cheikh Saadbou Fall. The best is yet to come! Dreams and Teams forever. Sir Daybou
On saturday 5th December 2008 from 5. to 7, 5 LANS Young Leaders organised a session to train in cricket. Two P.E's (Diop and Faye Alphonse) and about 30 students from Ahmadou Ndack Seck High School. 3 tutors supervised the session: Mr Khassim Name, H-G teacher; Mr Sadibou Diouf, Eng. teacher; Mr Assane Seck, Eng. teacher. Ths kits were offered by our U.K. partners during their January visit. The idea of the training session was put forward by Mr Name and the arrangements by the Dreams and Teams Manager Cheikh Saadbou Fall. The session started with a brainstorming on the game by Mamadou Kadiagne Diop and Pape Abdoulaye Seye. Then Daouda Gueye, Ben Ndao headed the practical exercises on bowling, batting etc. To end up, match was organised. We worked hard and played hard.
In August 2008, we went to the ministry of Foreign Affairs as we plan to meet the minister of Foreign affairs soon. The formal letter has already been written. We plan to go with the British council director.
